I split three limestone blocks and assembled the two columns erect and locked together ingeniously ... each half block twisting about the one beneath ... He carves into the stone blocks one column a male and in the other a female figure each in relation to the other and both figures nearing completion at the same time.  They may be thought of as individuals or a pair and evoke an eternal human pathos whether Adam and Eve, Tristram and Iseult or Romeo and Juliet;  I work on them as His and Hers.

 

As these lifesize paired sculptures evolve, more photos will be posted to this page providing an animation of the various states of change the stones undergo by my hands over time.  I estimate that I am about half way through the project which has been stalled three times over the last decade for as long as 2 years at a time due to studio moves and other interferences.
